I feel like sobbing when I see young girls on here counting calories and worrying about whether or not it’s alright to get frozen yogurt with their families when they take a trip to the mall. Is society really at a place where 15 year old girls can’t get together and enjoy themselves freely? So many of them are posting photos of models and feeling hurt that they aren’t those girls. I’ve seen my photos used as “thinspo”, and I wish I could talk to the girls reblogging them as such. I wish so much that it was easier for young women to recognize that there is beauty in our differences. Some tall models wish they were shorter and feel insecure about their height. Some thin girls feel less feminine because they lack womanly curves. Some women with large breasts wish they had flatter chests. Everyone seems to find beauty and desirable aspects in the way everyone else looks, but too often they don’t recognize the beauty in themselves. I’m tired of watching people lash out at others on the internet because they can hide behind a computer screen. You’re all too intelligent and too lovely to feel this way. If anyone ever feels insecure or hurt or stressed, please reach out to me! Enough of this sillyness. Of course there are going to be days when you feel “gross”. That’s inevitable. No one feels 100% all the time. But you shouldn’t wake up every day feeling less of a person because you don’t look like someone else.
